Spyporter Board Game

The rule of thumb is simple: think differently!

But beware, you must keep in mind your opponent's point of view.

NORMAL

ADVANCED

The game is played with 16 red and 16 yellow game pieces. In this setup we shall place the pieces on the game board according to the image.

The initial move can be taken with any piece placed on a blue square, or a square marked with an ‘L’.

The red starts, and then the players take turns in moving.

The aim is to remove all pieces of the other player from the game board.

start

Little arrow with a shaft:

The player shall move one space in the direction indicated by the arrow, and can take the piece standing on the square he lands on.

Big arrow with a shaft:

The player shall move as many spaces as he wants in the direction indicated by the arrow, and can take the piece standing on the square he lands on. The player shall not jump over a piece.

blackandwhite

Red pieces shall move in the direction indicated by the red arrow, yellow pieces in the direction indicated by the yellow arrow.

Little arrow with no shaft:

The player shall move one space in the direction indicated by the arrow of his colour, but he cannot take a piece.

Double little arrow with no shaft:

The player shall move one OR two spaces in the direction indicated by the arrow, but cannot take a piece, or jump over a piece.

blue

From these squares the players shall move on any spaces in the directions indicated by the arrows, and can take a piece, but cannot jump over a piece.

Bishop
Queen
Rook

From these squares players shall move in ‘L’ pattern (one space vertically and two horizontally, or two spaces vertically and one horizontally) and can take a piece.

Knight

From these squares players shall move one space in the direction indicated by the arrows and can take a piece.

King

From these squares the player shall move one space in the direction indicated by the arrow of his colour, but cannot take a piece. He can move one step diagonally, but ONLY if he can take a piece on the square he lands on.

Dark Arrow

From these squares the player shall move one or two spaces in the direction indicated by the arrow of his colour, but cannot take a piece (one arrow= one space, two arrows=one or two spaces). He can move one space diagonally, but ONLY if he can take a piece on the square he lands on.

Two Arrows
Two Arrows Double

From these squares the player can move on any vacant squares on the game board.

SpyPorter logo

In this setup the rules are the same, but we turn the game board by 90 degrees and place the pieces on the board.

start

Therefore on blue squares the red pieces can move only rightwards, and the yellow ones only leftwards. This way the initial move can be taken only from the three ‘L’ squares, or the Spyporter squares.
